Anastasia Chernysheva
is a visual artist based in the Netherlands.
She was born in Moscow into a family of artists and studied theatrical painting and scenography at GITIS.
She worked as a stage and costume designer and collaborated with theatres and visual productions in several countries.
She also taught art and stage design at a theatre institute in Damascus.
Alongside this work her art was presented in exhibitions and art projects.
Drawing and painting have always been part of her practice.
In recent years her work has become more focused on an independent studio practice.
Her body of work now grows from images of sea, horizon and open landscape.
These paintings explore quiet moments where observation of nature and inner perception briefly meet.
